SL904 is the 5:1 surround joy-stick controller which supported automation of the SSL4000 series.
It can switch it to divergence function and simple QUAD Panmode setting a feeling of expanse of the front dynamically.

“Automation”
It can use SL904 alone, but can make operation like the normal fader automation when it is connected to the SSL4000 series computer.
As for the status switch, XY axis is independent, and trim can make only in the X-axis.
It is only joy-stick to support automation, and QUAD switch and the DIVERGENCE trim are left out.

“Mode”
It can switch surround mode and the QUAD mode dynamically anytime at normal 5:1 and may send an interesting effect depending on the way of using.

“Divergence”
It can set a feeling of expanse of the sound image for L of the front, C, R by DIVERGENCE trim.
For example, it feels like it is output in L and R and opens in left and right from the center when it raises DIVERGENCE in a state panning in C.
Additionally, left to right can express a feeling attracting an expanse, the curtain of the sound if in condition to have panned in L.
The divergence does not affect for case of the QUAD mode and L of the back, R.

“Input and output, monitor”
All the input and output connectors of SL904 implements Dsub25 connecter.
It switches 4 buses of the 4K console standard program output and 8 surround program output buses and 8 surround tape return buses and can monitor it when it uses SL902 of related products.
Additionally, the cut possibles individually, too.

“External control”
Please refer about controlling it in Sony 9pin, an MIDI with an RS232C port of SL904.

“Others”
Please consider in addition in 8-track monitor system SL902.
When it purchases SL902 together, it sets a special price.
