AF124 is cough box of the systems to control the VCA of the console or an external mute circuit directly.
Conventionally, it was connecting cough box to audio insertion, and, as for the problems of this method, sound quality lowering and a cough channel are fixed.
It is this AF124 to solve those problems.

“Twin control”
It implemented both fader and touch switch to be able to choose either depending on preference in AF124.
The fader adopts a 100mm stroke and is devised even if it operates it roughly to work surely.
In addition, it is adopting an illumination type superior in visibility in a touch switch.
As for the fader and the touch switch, an OR works.
When you use a touch switch, it moves the fader down, and, please turn off a touch switch when you use fader.
When it cannot turn it off in the touch switch when it turns it on in fader and, likewise, turns it on in a touch switch, it cannot turn it off in the fader.
When it wants to use only either, it is necessary to do internal modification.

“Cough output”
When fader up or a touch switch is on, AF124 outputs the signal which is ON and the reverse with an open collector format.
When you are connected, please match it with the logic such as consoles.

“CUE lamp ”
When CUE button is pushed in TB961/963 of the control room, CUE lamp of AF124 turns on.
In addition, it can set it up at the position that it connects external CUE lamp AF205A and is easy to see.

“RTB (return talkback)”
Return talkback is possible for control room when it presses the RTB (return talkback) button of AF124.
It is having built-in compressor to a built-in microphone amplifier made balanced output in line level, and it reduces a switch noise, and high backtalk of the clarity is possible.
In addition, the switch contact is output for external equipment control, too.

“Others”
As related equipment of AF124, there are studio interface AF201A for the O2R series, AF2201 which are connectable in 4 cough, interface CIF800 for SSL4000 consoles, stereo-VCA unit AF125, dual cough interface AF129.
CIF800 allows microphone control with VCA group fader 7 or 8 of the SSL-4k console.
AF224 of the all in one type cough unit which is interface-free　also available.
